About Tall Poppy
What We Do
We work with progressive Democratic candidates and elected officials ranging from local office-holders to Presidential nominees. But truthfully, we like the local races the most— the city council, school board, and commission campaigns that are often overlooked and yet are so important.
We specialize in working with candidates and elected officials who should be at the table, but who are too often sidelined: women of color, moms, LGBTQ+ folks, young people, strong progressives, people from working-class backgrounds, and people who were formerly incarcerated.
Working with annual budgets ranging from small ($100,000+) to large (tens of millions), we help clients:
Develop budgets, finance plans, and organizational structure
Fundraise through events, email, and texting programs
Cultivate existing relationships and engage with prospective donors
Establish branding and online presence
Make decisions regarding vendors and staff hires
Execute and develop field operations and campaign plans

Eden McKissick-Hawley
Founder & Partner (she/her)
-
Eden McKissick-Hawley is the Founding Partner of Tall Poppy Fundraising. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri (go Chiefs), she now calls Columbus, Ohio home.
Eden first started knocking doors for John Kerry at age 9 and hasn’t stopped since. She brings seven years of well-rounded professional fundraising, campaign management, and consulting experience to the table for her clients.
Eden’s professional career began in Columbus, Ohio in 2016 when she managed Cathy Johnson’s campaign for State Senate. The majority of her career has been spent on the congressional campaign circuit serving in senior roles for multi-million dollar red-to-blue races in states like Texas, Ohio, and Illinois.
In 2018, Eden served as Regional Finance Director for Central Ohio for Rich Cordray’s gubernatorial campaign. In 2020, she served as finance director for Kim Olson in her successful TX-24 primary and then went on to manage Desiree Tims’ congressional race in the OH-10 general election.
As a consultant, Eden leads teams of talented operatives across the country to win competitive races ranging from local elected office to statewide campaigns.
In 2022, Tall Poppy won primary and general election races in Georgia, electing Democrats Saira Draper and Lisa Campbell to the State Legislature in competitive seats. That cycle, Eden also directed the team responsible for delivering a historic primary victory with Jamie McLeod-Skinner, who unseated Rep. Kurt Schrader in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. This race is considered the largest upset in Oregon since 1994.
When Eden isn’t pounding the pavement for Democrats she believes in, she can be found tending to her tomato plants and making bagels— two of her favorite things in life.

Eva Scott
Partner (she/her)
-
Eva Scott is a Partner at Tall Poppy. Originally from Grand Rapids, Ohio, she spent the last 6+ years crisscrossing the country to elect Democrats up and down the ticket from New York to Alaska.
Eva found her love for campaigning while working to elect Hillary Clinton in 2016 at the University of Toledo. Since then, she has built her background in field organizing and campaign management. Eva has also developed first of its kind field programming to ensure the youth vote turns out in critical moments and in record numbers for Democrats.
In 2019, Eva served as the Midwest Regional Organizer for Pete Buttigieg's Youth Organizing Program, which resulted in tens of thousands of doors knocked by students during caucus weekend in Iowa. In 2022, Eva served as the Youth and Campus Organizing Director for the Pennsylvania Democratic Coordinated Campaign, where her program resulted in historic youth voter turnout, and is credited for Senator Fetterman and Governor Shapiro’s statewide wins.
As a consultant, Eva has directed paid field programming ranging from budgets of $5,000-$500,000+ and she has overseen statewide teams of more than 60 staff.
When Eva is not solving the existential problems of direct voter contact, you'll find her sipping on iced tea and taking a walk around her neighborhood in Philly.
Eva is a Scorpio sun, Libra moon, and Taurus rising.
